The design phase involves these four phases spanning late
August 2018 through August 2019. Design
teams consisting of staff members, community members, Board members,
construction professionals, and A/E professionals will actively participate in
the design process and make recommendations to the Executive Committee
throughout the Programming, Schematic Design, and Design Development
phases. Each design phase must be Board
approved and will include a community meeting/presentation.
Programming

2018 - October 2018

During the programming and concept design phase,
design teams will revisit conceptual site plans created during the planning
process and further define and confirm space and functional needs for school
programming. The main objectives of this
stage includes but is not limited to verifying an understanding of the total
scope of the project. This includes:

The District’s and community’s priorities and objectives.

relationships

Design

2018 - January 2019

The Schematic Design Stage is the portion of the Design in which building and site concept designs are further developed and refined. Analysis of the concepts and resulting studies usually leads to the development of the final concept and establishes a single solution for the development of character, project scope, and cost information that is acceptable to the District’s budget and programming needs. Renderings of how the building might look begin to take shape for community feedback.

The Design Development Stage is the portion of
the Design in which the project is transformed from ideas, concepts, and
broad-brush thoughts to specific materials, details and contractual
instructions for pricing and construction of the physical facilities. 3D images are produced of the interior and
